Brit Phatal
Makeup Artist + Photographer + Creative Director
Brit Phatal is a multidisciplinary visual artist from Montreal, specializing in beauty direction, and makeup artistry.
While doing their BA in art history, Brit started to experiment with beauty products on themself as a way to explore and get in touch with their gender identity.
After years of reckless partying and working unfulfilling retail jobs, Brit became a full time freelance artist in 2019 and has since expanded their visual language with creative direction, photography, and content creation.
Brit has worked with major advertising and fashion labels. Their makeup work has been featured on ID, PAPER, NUMERO, VOGUE, WONDERLAND.
They have also contributed as a beauty director on video campaigns for LEMME, as well as GOOD DYE YOUNG. They are notably responsible for creating the iconic glam for Slipknot’s Corey Taylor’s newest album cover.
Their audacious imagination and unapologetic style earned them an artist profile on DAZED, as well as the opportunity to consult for HIGH SNOBIETY.
As a go-to for effortless, and trendsetting it-girl makeup, Brit Phatal counts Mia Khalifa, Simi and Haze, Caroline Vreeland, JT, Noah Cyrus and Rebecca Black, amongst their high profile clients.
With their ability to pull from both esoteric and culturally relevant references, Brit’s genius lies in their ability to adapt their keen and unique vision to mainstream culture and commercial media.
Brit wants to create a safe space to help people celebrate their wildest fantasies and hopes to bring positive change to the industry through kindness and authenticity.
