Matthew Gode is an Australian-born, US-based multidisciplinary creative working across choreography, movement direction, styling, and performance. Known for his cinematic approach to movement and his ability to merge fashion, visual art, and pop culture, Matthew has established himself as a distinctive force within both the global dance and fashion industries.
Trained in classical and commercial dance at renowned institutions including the Queensland Ballet Academy and Brent Street, Matthew developed a strong technical foundation that continues to inform his dynamic and emotionally charged creative language. His work is recognized for its fluidity, precision, and ability to transform movement into storytelling.
Matthew’s creative vision has been featured in leading publications including Vogue, i-D, PopSugar, SHOWstudio, RUSSH, Vogue Australia, To Be Magazine, and Numéro. His instinctive understanding of movement elevates fashion imagery into immersive visual narratives. He has collaborated with internationally acclaimed artists including TWICE, Troye Sivan, Bebe Rexha, and Alice Chater, bringing a refined visual and performative sensibility to live performances, campaigns, and music videos alike.
Within fashion, Matthew has worked as a movement director across editorials and campaigns for brands including Camilla and Marc, Hermès, Bulgari, Entire Studios and Chanel.
Expanding beyond traditional choreography, Matthew has also explored the intersection of movement, technology, and performance art. He choreographed a virtual reality experience for Carriageworks and collaborated with artist Patric Kuo on gallery-based installation works, continuing to push the boundaries of contemporary performance and visual storytelling.
