Mark de los Reyes

Makeup artist + beauty expert

Mark de los Reyes is a New York-based makeup and visual artist whose work is grounded in transformation, storytelling, and cultural reflection. Born in Manila and raised across the U.S. and Japan, his nomadic upbringing fostered an intuitive adaptability that shapes his collaborative, emotionally resonant practice. A background in design, along with early immersion in queer nightlife and drag, forged a lens that embraces identity, reinvention, and theatricality—not as spectacle, but as quiet acts of resistance.

Mark’s approach to beauty is instinctively subversive—favoring texture over perfection, emotion over polish. He leans into what’s layered, unfinished, and unexpectedly human. His work spans editorial, runway, red carpet, and campaign spaces, with features in Vogue, DAZED, The Cut, and Cosmopolitan. He has collaborated with icons including Brooke Shields, Solange Knowles, and Eartheater, and partnered with fashion houses such as Marc Jacobs, Wales Bonner, Givenchy, and Oscar de la Renta.

In 2025, Mark served as the Key Makeup Designer for Inebria Me, an experimental opera by musician and performance artist San Cha, which premiered at Performance Space New York in Manhattan’s East Village. The genre-defying production—a fusion of ranchera, punk, and queer performance—offered a bold, ecstatic stage for Mark’s transformative makeup design, conjuring a visual world that danced between myth, melodrama, and liberation.

Beyond his creative practice, Mark supports organizations that center LGBTQIA+ and survivor communities, including Trans Lifeline, SAGE, and The Trevor Project. His work—both on and off set—honors the people and cultures that shape beauty, resilience, and visual storytelling.
