Hector Clark softens the hard edges between past and future. Merging a classical aesthetic with modern practices, Clark explores character and invites contrast to his images. Analogue processing, printing, and camera techniques work together with variable elements to inform an unconventional image direction. An illusion of simplicity that tells a larger story in its nuances. With foundations in fine art, Clark plays in the tension that exists between his subjects and influences. A balance of the old master’s refined technicality, and the radical disruptiveness of the punk and hardcore movements.
